Through the deep shadow's of the darkening desert, Kunai emerged into an enormously large burrow he himself made specially for his pack. With a simple wave of his tail and a flick of his ears signaled to his pack that they were home. "This is our home" he barked to his pack. His fur shimmered as little moonlight streaked across his fur. "I made this burrow myself and made it so the stream would solidify the sand that acts as the the roof of the camp".

Vulture let a one sided smile cross her face at his reassurances, trailing after Kunai without a look at what she left behind. Thoughts moved sluggishly within her, limping steps loud against the caked ground. But she could never rid herself of the odd beat, it was like ridding the rythum of her heart. She doubted she could live without it.
Legs slowed as Kunai did, eyes blinking as though she was just aware of her surroundings. Her dark eyes soaked up the moonlight, her dull pelt reflecting none of the light like her mate. She let a crooked grin replace her old one, wondering why in the world such a handsome beast would choose a limping, dull pelted and hardly there female for his mate. She guessed that she would never know.
The red wolf tilted an ear to listen to Kunai's words, looking to the large burrow he made. "Good thinking," Vulture remarked, glad to have such a thoughtful alpha/mate. She would've personally just lived above ground, under the extremes. It was easier and needed little effort. "I'm so lazy," she chided to herself, looking to Kunai again and giving her tail the smallest of wags.

Kunai looked at his mate thoughtfully, he wasn't too sure exactly what made her so beautiful. In his mind, she was the most beautiful wolf in the land and he was glad that he had her as a mate and also wouldn't have it any other way. He gave his mate an affectionette lick on the ear and invited her to follow him "I'll show you where we stay" his voice was firm, yet smooth. Addressing the rest of the pack he howled and tossed his head to the direction of each thing he described "Over there is where the pups live until they are old enough to hunt for themselves and without their mothers! Over there is the small towering rock which our prey will be placed!" he pointed with his tail at the rockin one corner of the burrow. "Other than that, you may sleep where you like and with whomever you like" and with that he nodded to his mate.

Vulture felt the lick on her laid back ears, flashing a smile towards her mate and listening to his words. "Pups, prey and sleep," she mentally noted, her head turning to face the places that Kunai had pointed out. Her large body advanced on the alpha, letting herself brush against his side and dark eyes facing him. She waited for him to move forward, wondering what den Kunai thought good enough for the Ayzra pair to live.

"You may now make yourselves at home!" he howled to the pack, then "Come, follow me" he wagged his tail at his mate with a smile. With her by his side, shoulder-to-shoulder, Kunai led the way to a den with a small opening which was the entrance to the den.
Appearing inside of the den was a wide open space, lined with soft moss, some tunnels that led in different directions, etc. "Watch where you wander to make sure you don't get lost, I'll show you where each one leads soon enough" he promised his mate. He bounded to the middle of the large space "Look up" he looked up to the roof of the den. He lifted one massive forepaw and opened something in the roof and all at once, the den was filled with moonlight "Its soothing when uncomfortable, impossible to find above, and it directs moonlight into the hollow" he grinned, switching his soft, but strong, gaze back to his mate to await for her reaction. "I lived here a long time, and I have had alot of time to make it suitable for a pack and, us" he explained a little.

Vulture listened to Kunai's words carefully, letting her body press against the moss covered walls and feet sink into the soft carpet below. When they came to the large space, she looke up like he told her to. She let her mouth part slightly as she let the moonlight rest on her features, throwing her shadowed face into the light. "Us," her mind hummed happily, yet slightly suprised. Her dark eyes matched with his, paws nearing Kunai and wet nose pressed against his cheek and then letting her tongue give a lick of affection to his muzzle. "It's so lovely, Kunai," Vulture admitted, taking a step back from him and looking back to the sky that hung above, a smile on her muzzle.

Kunai glanced at his mate and blinked softly as she returned her gaze to the sky "Thankyou" he replied to her compliment. He pushed his smooth fur to hers "This is where we will stay, my dearest" his voice was soft, affectionette and full of meaningfullness. He spoke the truth that he loved her "Soon we must make our journey to the sacred temple where you will recieve your alphess powers, but we will only leave when you feel ready and only then" he assured her. With that said he pushed his muzzle beside hers with a smile. This was the wolf that he would only show his soft, caring side to ever. Normally this wolf was dominant, strong, and firm with his words, but with her his words were soft.

Vulture listened to his soft words with a sheepish grin. She was used to harsh voice of insults and the pleading whines of wolves in need, never there was a voice that attempted to sooth her. "Alphess powers?" she wondered. Alphess was a new word, but she assumed that whatever it was, she was it. Powers, however, was a known word, sometimes whispered as a blessing or a curse.
She wondered for a moment if she was ready, swaying for a moment before leaning her weight on Kunai's side. "I...I think I'm ready now. But perhaps we should wait until morning...?" her statment was a question, muzzle tilted to face Kunai with a brow raised.

Kunai let her lean on him and smiled "Yes, we will leave at sunrise then if you feel ready and all will become clear to you soon after that" he promised. He then bounded over to a corner where some moonlight reached and curled up. He wrapped his tail around himself and invited his mate to join him "Now, we rest and in the morning you shall recieve your powers and all shall become clear" he assured her. His fur almost had a sparkling glow to it, warming glow, under the soft moonlight he waited for his mate to join him.

Vulture trailed after him, watching as his fur shimmered as he laid down. She imitated her movements, although instead of curling up she spread out. Her belly laid against the cool ground, front paws stretched ahead of her, head falling onto her legs. "Alright," she murmured, moving her head about for a few moments before at last settling and closing her eyes.

Kunai smiled as his mate got comfortable. When she was done moving around he did the same and cuddled up to her "Thankyou for becomeing my mate" he whispered into her ear before closing his eyes to await for sunrise, when they will take their journey to the temple. A bit after, he looked up thoughtfully to the beautiful moon. He prayed his thanks to his ancestors before him that he had been blessed with a good pack and a wonderful alphess.

Vulture listened to his words, but her mind stuck within a dazed mode did not let her realize how important they were. Instead, she let a smile cross her muzzle and arrange her head so that back of it faced Kunai. She felt him move with her shoulder, but the though "What's he doing? was much too slow to grab her attention.
Thoughts were random, aiming on the task ahead of her and the itch on her back. She was never one to worry, not really anyways. She let sleeping dogs lie, and to her that didn't just refer to people, it refered to most problems too. Vulture took one last deep breath before settling into sleep, no dreams or nightmares disturbing her slumber.
