The flooded Pathway

Long long ago, before the raging war, a lovely, flowing crystal river found it's path alongside the Road to Cicero. The lands shifted as the wars began, changing the way the path and the river formed. They became conjoined; the river overflowed and was uprooted as the pathway cracked and collected. do you continue on, or stop at the mishapen landmark?
